Accident Investigation and

Reconstruction

All accident investigations and reconstructions are completed by Larry W. Busby, an ACTAR Certified Accident Reconstructionist (#2885). The Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR) is internationally recognized in both the accident reconstruction industry and the legal community for establishing standards created by 24 participating organizations.  Members are required to pass an eight hour credentialing examination demonstrating proficiency in the only broad based, objective and meaningful standards available and meet the ACTAR Code of Conduct.

ELEMENTS OF ACCIDENT RECONSTRUCTION MAY INCLUDE:

Critical Curve Speed Analysis Flip, Fall, Vault and Roll Over Analysis Impact Speed from Vehicle Crush Damage Analysis Momentum and/or Kinetic Energy Analysis Skid Mark Speed Analysis Tire, Seatbelt and Air Bag Analysis Visibility, Perception and Reaction Time Analysis ATTORNEY LITIGATION SUPPORT: Work with attorney to define scope of investigation. Review all documents provided relating to case. Report verbally to attorney and if requested complete a written comprehensive expert report. Create exhibits and/or 3D animations of the accident based upon laser scanned point clouds of the accident scene and vehicles. Provide deposition testimony. Provide trial testimony. COMPREHENSIVE EXPERT REPORTS: Detail the results of the accident investigation and reconstruction. Document the evidence considered in the reconstruction. Define the scientific, mathematical and engineering principles upon which the reconstruction and conclusions are based. Document witness and first responder statements. Document evidence acquired such as Event Data Recorder downloads, crush damage measurements and sight obstructions from accident site mapping. Define causation factors, when sufficient evidence exists to reach an expert opinion with a reasonable degree of certainty.
